ARC welds art with design in contemporary furniture

Furniture designer Ken Guenter and metal sculptor Douglas Senft have fused their talents in ARC, a limited edition series of 49 wood-topped, aluminum-legged coffee tables. Both experts and successful in their own medium and based on Vancouver Island--Guenter is an accomplished fine woodworker while Senft's work can be seen in large public sculptures--their collaboration has resulted in a stunning synthesis of art and function.

These sleek, modern coffee tables are available in four different top shapes, and each table and legs will be stamped with the edition number and date of execution. Guenter maximizes a diminishing resource for his glistening tops by using modern veneer cutting technology and applying the veneer to a wood fibre core for superior stability. Senft has waterjet cut 2" aluminum plate, recycled from two of his public sculptures, for the fluid, graceful legs. Wood and metal are fitted together with an ingenious clamp and housing system that provides a strong joint, totally invisible.

Made from the finest quality materials and with care, and requiring a minimum of maintenance, the gleaming ARC tables will last a lifetime of coffee breaks.
